Hey there! Welcome to this post and Thank you for stopping by!

When I want to get a caffeinated drink, I always get overwhelmed with all the options and how different they are. God forbid, you get a waiter who is just as confused. Utter frustration! I have also always wanted to know how the price compares at different restaurants or cafes.

That’s why today, we are doing a ‘Coffee + Kulanini’ post. The five popular restaurants/ cafes we will look at are: Mugg & Bean, Brioche, CJ’s, Java and Artcaffe. We will focus on the 11 types of caffeinated drinks these places offer. Espresso, Americano, Flat White, Latte, Cappuccini, Macchiato, Mocha, Hot Chocolate, Dawa (though not caffeinated but very popular in Kenya), Kenyan Tea and Frappe.

I totally get how overwhelming this list seems so let me share this infographic that describes most of them.

After studying all five menus, I was able to summarise what each offers as follows:

Here are 5 points I think are important to note:

  1. Brioche is the most affordable coffee shop of all the five.
  2. CJ’s and Java are priced quite similarly.
  3. Mugg & Bean is the most expensive.
  4. Espresso and Kenyan Tea are the cheapest caffeinated drink you can have.
  5. Mocha and Latte are the most expensive caffeinated drinks you can have.

I hope this has been helpful. The ranges are for cases where there are different flavour variations or there is the option of single or double. I would love to hear  in the comment section which is your most preferred drink and coffee shop.

Thank you so much for stopping by!
