a restaurant in a garden
Hello there! I have missed you guys so much!
My schedule recently changed; getting the best of me, and leaving me with almost no time to catch up with you guys. I really hope I get the hang of it soon; and can post more often. Nonetheless, I have an exciting post prepared for you.
Welcome to this post and thank you for stopping by.
I don’t know if am the only one who does this but, I actually look forward to food festivals like pizza festival or burger festival not to eat more of something but to try food at places I have never been, or a place I would not ordinarily go to because of how expensive it is.
In May this year, there was a burger festival. This basically meant; for the given participating restaurants, you get another free burger with the burger you ordered. Buy one get one free. However, you have to pick your destination wisely because, some restaurants only give a burger free while others give the whole meal i.e burger plus accompaniment. There was no way I was going to waste this festival on a place that I have been to before or a place that wasn’t worth my money. Yes. I am extremely picky. Woe unto you if we ever visit a restaurant together. You could honestly order your food and finish eating while am still debating with the waiter on which meal has a bigger portion. Haha. I am all about getting my money’s worth.
My best friend; Waithera (who happens to love food just as much as I do. Thank God for friends like these.) and I settled on The arbor restaurant (near ebru tv) on James Gichuru Drive. It was affordable (free burger came as a meal… with an accompaniment), I had never been there and the burger options seemed interesting.
The restaurant is actually a garden restaurant (hence the name of this blog post). There is no inside sitting area. It’s all outside. Even the kitchen is outside. (Of course in an enclosed area; but its still outside.)
The Arbor restaurant is so beautiful. The garden is well manicured; green with colorful flowers. The design is very unique; nothing I have ever seen before. Whatever name is given to such a design; I don’t know. I can only say that it is very creative, simple and it works for them brilliantly.
I would come here with a large group of friends. You won’t feel like your overcrowded because the place is set up outdoors – leaving enough fresh air and room to accommodate quite a number. Not to say that it isn’t a good place for two people or for you to go alone; not at all! I mean, I came here with one person and still loved it.
As much as we only went to the arbor for the burger festival 2017; I still got a chance to see the menu. I believe it’s quite affordable and extremely creative in terms of the dishes they serve. I would definitely go back and try out the other dishes. Once this is done, I will let you know!
Below are pictures of the menu so you can see the pricing and menu options. Main courses basically range from 800/= to 1100/= ; which I believe is rather reasonable.
They even have an exciting daily specials menu that has something special every other day! See below:
The next post will be all about the wonderful burgers we had at The arbor restaurant. Here is a sneak preview of what to expect:
Thats all I have for you guys in this restaurant post.
Thank you so much for stopping by.
Did you participate in the burger festival this year? If so, where did you go? Let me know in the comment section below! I would love to know.
